“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
A soldier is required to be strong and courageous to face the enemy in a battle. He should ensure that the enemy is terrified of Him even before the battle begins because that will assure his victory. One running in a race requires strength and courage to win the race. The reputation of the person will work an extra mile to terrify the other side even before the race or the battle begins.
God is asking Joshua in chapter 1 and the 9th verse of the book of Joshua, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous”. God is asking us the same question today. Why are we so terrified of the devil? Why are you allowing life challenges to discourage you? Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? The lord has further promised that he will be with you wherever you go.
Strength and courage is required in every step of our life. It is required as one chooses a career, as one chooses a life partner, as one chooses to walk victoriously over sin. It is also key as one discovers his life purpose and chooses to walk in it. Strength and courage is required to raise a godly family. In addition, it will equip us not to disgrace the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The devil is roaming around looking for someone to discourage this day. He will show you that the Lord is not concerned; no one cares around about you. He will lower your ability to achieve anything in life, but you are required to stand and remember what the Lord has commanded you. Be strong and courageous, and then the enemy will be terrified of you even before you wage the war for the Lord God is already with you fighting for you.
