Rev. Gerrald Kimathi Sunday Service on the 19th day of April 2026
In this year of double harvest, God is calling us to be available. The key Scripture is found in Isaiah 6:6-8 (NKJV): “Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: ‘Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.’ Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.'”
Isaiah had a powerful encounter with God in the temple. He saw the Lord high and lifted up, with His glory filling the place. In the presence of God’s holiness, he recognised his own sinfulness and cried out. A seraphim touched his lips with a live coal from the altar, purging his iniquity and sin. Only then was he ready to respond when God asked, “Whom shall I send?”
Nothing significant happens without a cause and facilitation. Results follow investment. Isaiah was already serving faithfully as an adviser to kings, yet it was in the place of worship and encounter that his guilt was removed and he became sendable. In the same way, availability for double harvest requires cleansing, alignment, and a willing heart that says, “Here am I! Send me.”
We are often driven by different things — desires, problems, fears, or external pressures. But for lasting achievement and harvest, there must be inner fuel that propels us even when no one is cheering, forcing, or paying us. God warns against lukewarmness in Revelation 3:16 (NKJV): “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
Lukewarmness leads to sleeping on the job and forgetting our mission. In this season, we must align our actions with our beliefs and purpose. We must stay driven by the Spirit, hearing what He is saying to the church. God does not invite us into His presence for nothing to happen. When we come with expectation and availability, He purges, equips, and sends us.
True availability means presenting ourselves to God with open hearts, ready for whatever assignment or process He requires. Like the woman who came to church in pain and began cleaning despite her sickness, obedience and service in God’s house can release healing and breakthrough. God honours those who make themselves available.
Application Make yourself fully available to God by presenting your life with a willing heart that says, “Here am I! Send me.” Allow Him to purge anything that hinders you — sin, guilt, lukewarmness, or distractions — so you can be cleansed and equipped for greater impact. Stay driven by inner spiritual fuel rather than external pressures, aligning your daily actions with your faith and purpose. Hear what the Spirit is saying to you personally and respond in obedience, even when no one is watching. In this year of double harvest, position yourself through worship, surrender, and faithful service so that God can use you mightily and multiply His blessings in your life.
