Rev. Gerrald Kimathi
Sunday Service on the 15th day of March 2026
This is the year of double harvest, and God is calling us to a higher standard of honour, sacrifice, and purpose. The message today addresses a critical barrier: those who steal—not merely by taking goods, but by taking opportunities, honour, divine assignments, and even the glory that belongs to God.
Gifts are godly. They create atmospheres of fellowship, celebration, and breakthrough. In our culture, one never approaches in-laws empty-handed; gifts open doors, demonstrate appreciation, and position the giver for favour. The same principle applies in the kingdom. We must approach God and people with something of value.
Proverbs 18:16 (KJV) declares: “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” A gift does not merely bless the recipient; it elevates the giver. In this season, cease going through life empty-handed. Carry gifts—time, talent, treasure—to God and to destiny connectors around you.
Your wealth is with the people. Consider David in 2 Samuel 24:16-24 (KJV), where he pleads for mercy during a plague and is directed to Araunah’s threshing floor to build an altar. Araunah offers it freely, but David insists: “Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing.” (2 Samuel 24:24, KJV) David paid fifty shekels of silver. Free things incapacitate; they erode dignity and growth. Insisting on paying creates value, builds relationships, and positions for multiplication. Stop expecting miracles without investment. If double harvest is your portion, sow seeds consistently.
Free things are not cheap. God rejects offerings that cost nothing. Leviticus 22:18-20 (KJV) instructs that offerings must be without blemish: “Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the Lord for a burnt offering; Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats. But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.” Borrowed offerings, delayed tithes, half-hearted service—these dishonour Him. Upgrade your giving, worship, and commitment. Discipline is required for harvest.
Money follows purpose. Dream big and align your life accordingly. Discipline spending, avoid non-essentials, and invest in kingdom priorities. Create need for money by solving problems—financial, emotional, spiritual. When you address needs around you, God addresses yours. David solved a plague through costly obedience; God provided the altar and peace.
From today, resolve that your life will never remain the same. Never approach God, people, or destiny empty-handed. Insist on paying the price, for it positions you for promotion, honour, and multiplied harvest.
Application Embrace the principle that gifts open doors and position you for favour; approach God and others with value—your time, talent, and treasure—rather than empty-handed. Reject the mentality of expecting breakthroughs without investment; sow seeds consistently through disciplined giving, sacrifice, and service that costs you something meaningful. Recognise that your wealth and increase lie with the people; solve problems in your community and relationships to activate kingdom economics and divine multiplication. Align your dreams and finances with God’s purpose, avoiding casual or cost-free offerings that dishonour Him. In this year of double harvest, upgrade your commitment through purposeful discipline and honour, trusting that costly obedience will yield promotion, provision, and lasting fruitfulness.
