Minister David Ndung’u
This is the year of double harvest, and God desires that we see the fulfilment of what He has declared. He makes known the end from the beginning, as Isaiah 46:9-10 (KJV) affirms: “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.”
Whatever you are trusting God for this year—breakthrough in family, business, ministry, or personal life—He has already shown the end. It is done in the spiritual realm, even if it appears delayed or silent. God works behind the scenes to bring it to pass.
The critical key to accessing and sustaining this double harvest is wisdom from above. Proverbs 3:13-18 (KJV) describes its surpassing value: “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.”
Wisdom is more profitable than silver, yields better returns than gold, and is more precious than rubies. Nothing we desire compares to her. In her right hand is long life; in her left, riches and honour. Her ways bring pleasantness and peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her.
This wisdom is not mere knowledge from books or human sources—it comes from God. Knowledge might inform you of a balanced diet with proteins, vitamins, and carbohydrates, but wisdom compels you to eat it and live accordingly. Many pursue material things in prayer, yet few cry earnestly for wisdom. When wisdom arrives, prayers shift from temporary wants to alignment with God’s eternal purposes. It deepens communion with Him, protects from evil, grants discernment to recognise the enemy’s attacks, and brings joy, peace, honour, health, and provision.
James 1:5 (KJV) invites us directly: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
Ask without hesitation, for God gives generously to all without finding fault. Seek wisdom to transform your decisions, to see the bigger picture, and to navigate life with divine insight.
Stewardship also requires wisdom, as Proverbs 27:23-27 (KJV) instructs: “Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds. For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation? The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered. The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field. And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.”
Know the condition of your flocks—your business, job, finances, relationships, and spiritual responsibilities such as winning and nurturing souls. Riches do not last forever, nor does a crown endure to every generation. Be diligent so that new growth appears after harvest. Care for what God has entrusted to produce ongoing provision: clothing from lambs, land from goats, and milk to nourish your household and others. This mindset ensures generational impact rather than short-term exhaustion of resources.
Pray earnestly for this wisdom: to live differently, to deepen fellowship with God, to enjoy protection, joy, and peace, to discern rightly, to make sound decisions, and to reap a bumper harvest without compromise.
Application Cry out to God daily for divine wisdom, recognising it as more valuable than material wealth or human achievement. Ask liberally, trusting His generous promise in James 1:5, so that your prayers align with His purposes and your life reflects deeper communion, protection, discernment, joy, peace, and provision. Practise diligent stewardship by knowing and tending your “flocks”—business, ministry, relationships, and souls—with care, ensuring sustainability and generational blessing rather than temporary gain. In this year of double harvest, allow wisdom to guide every decision, to sustain what God provides, and to position you for multiplied fruitfulness that glorifies Him and impacts beyond your lifetime.
